Projects

Systems and tools I have built.

A catalogue of the systems and tools I have built or actively develop, with what each one does, what state it is in, and where to find the source.

A project here is something I have built or am actively developing. Each entry says plainly what it does, what state it is in, and what my role was.

Projects differ from Products by who they are built for: a project solves my problem, a product is built for someone else to adopt. They differ from the Lab by whether the outcome is still in question — Lab work might not work at all, and that is the point.

Work moves between them. A project that turns out to be useful to other people can become a product; an experiment that proves out becomes a project. Nothing starts life as a product.

Some entries carry no source link. That is deliberate: work done in private production, or for an organisation, can be described at a level that respects its boundaries but cannot be handed over for inspection.
