KAE-Studio

Guides a user from an incomplete idea to an implementable specification, capturing the reasoning along the way.

Three stages — an incomplete idea, a structured interview that tracks what is established and what is still open, and a specification carrying requirements, decisions, and remaining questions. A dashed arrow returns open questions to the interview.
The interview is the mechanism; the specification is the artifact.

Most projects fail to get written down properly. The person who understands the requirements is busy, the person writing the specification is guessing, and the gap between them shows up later as rework.

KAE-Studio approaches that as an interview problem rather than a documentation problem. It asks structured questions, keeps track of what has and has not been established, and produces a specification that reflects what was actually decided rather than what someone remembered afterwards.

It is in active development and the source is public.
