Print shop storefront and back office
A storefront and back office for a copy and print shop — customers order printing, photocopying and softbound books online; staff check, price and track every order from a shop desk.

A copy and print shop takes most of its work over the counter, by phone and by message — a file on a flash drive, a question about binding, a price worked out by hand. This project moves that work online without losing the judgement the shop puts into it. It was built for Rejoice Copy Centre and runs as a demo under the name “Demo Print Studio”; the product’s own name is not settled.
It has two halves.
The storefront
Customers start from what they want printed: documents and photocopies, stapled booklets, or books with sewn softbound binding — modules, manuals, workbooks. They pick the details, add their PDF, review and confirm, and get an order number to follow the order by.
- A document check. A customer can upload a file and see what the shop will see before ordering: whether it is a PDF the shop can print from, and what to confirm about it.
- Honest pricing. Simple jobs can show a payable price. Larger or unusual jobs are assessed first, and the price the shop confirms is the one that counts.
- Production and delivery kept apart. How long printing takes and how long delivery takes are estimated separately, from small parcels to cartons of books.
- Tracking. Each order has its own page for progress, payment and receipts.
The back office
Staff work from a shop desk: the orders waiting for attention, newest first. Opening one shows everything needed to act on it — the customer’s files and the result of checking them, the price and every version of it, a timeline of what has happened, and the messages exchanged with the customer, including questions sent back when something needs clarifying.
Where it stands
The storefront and the back office both run as public demos. Neither accepts real orders or payments: everything placed in them is sample data.
The demo accepts no real orders or payments, and the source is private.
